Ana Koval, the executive director of the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor will discuss a Project for Public Spaces training she attended and how it applies to national heritage areas. The training introduced new ways of thinking about public spaces and how "placemaking" can be used to bring communities together and revitalize underperforming spaces.
